Oak Glen

First of all, this post marks my 60th post! Crazy!

Okay, now on to the good stuff! Last weekend Tyler and I went to Oak Glen with our good friends the Richey's! I had never experienced Oak Glen so I was quite excited! Ever since I moved to Riverside I have heard that Oak Glen is the perfect place to visit in the Fall, and we all know how much I love Fall, so of course I had to check it out for myself! I had a glorious time! Oh my, what fun it was! The whole day was ALL about Fall and I loved it! The Richey's were excellent guides and spent the whole day showing us all that Oak Glen had to offer. Here are some photos of our wonderful day.:)

In the car on our way! I was pretty giddy with excitement!

The Village in Oak Glen. Posing by the horse!

Tyler in the Village. There were so many cute shops!
A cool antique dish display! My mom actually has some of these same dishes.

We love the Richey's.

Tyler and Neil eating some delicious apple pie doughnuts. We also had apple cider doughnuts...oh my goodness...bliss in every bite!

Entering the petting zoo.

Later this same goat jumped on me and got me all dirty...oh well though. So fun!

Tyler and Neil throwing acorns at me. In college Tyler and his friends used to throw acorns at my roommate and I....well actually at our dorm window. Tyler and I always joke about that being the beginning of our romance. ;) Look at him smiling...he was reminiscing!;)

Making music with an acorn. My silly husband. But he's oh so cute.

The pumpkin patch.

I was a happy girl.

I wasn't expecting this! He makes me smile.

Neil being a goof.

Did I mention I think he's cute?

We went apple picking! Here is my cute lil' apple! Organic apples=happy Tiffany.
Under the apple tree.:)

Picking apples.

Me being silly while picking apples!

Monica and I. She is such a great friend.

Silly boys.:)

Walking down the lane on our way to pick apples.:)

Okay, what do you see when you look at this?! I see an old grumpy man!!

Oh Neil!

My caramel apple treat I brought home! It was dipped in dark chocolate, caramel, and sprinkles!
It was delicious...

Ty and his treat!

Our bowl of beautiful organic apples!!

We ended the night with the Richey's at the Spaghetti Factory for dinner.:) It was a great day!! i can't wait to visit Oak Glen again next year!

Orange County Get-Away!:)

Two weekends ago Tyler and I were able to escape away overnight to Orange County for date night. It was blissful! We had such a great time. We checked into our hotel in the afternoon and just spent time talking. It was so nice to be away from everything and just spend time in good conversation talking about our marriage, hopes, and dreams. It was truly refreshing.

We went to Elephant Bar for dinner and let me tell you...I didn't count calories. Okay, well maybe I did look at the nutritional information to try and be somewhat healthy...but hey, you have to splurge a little sometimes!:)

After dinner, we headed over to the mall and I picked out some goodies at Forever 21.:) Even though we have 2 Forever 21's in Riverside it was still fun to check out another one! I LOVE Forever 21.

We ended the night at Yogurt Land splurging in some delicious Fro-Yo. The cookies and cream frozen yogurt was scrumptious. Yumm!

Tyler and I had such a great date night away. It was awesome to get away in the middle of such busy times. Special thanks to our friend Brandon Burns for hooking us up with a sweet hotel room!:)

This is the only picture I took the entire night. Boo on that!

Making Strides...

Exercise is crucial to my well-being. If I don't exercise, I just feel plain poopy. I am more tired, more emotional, more stressed, and more insecure if I do not consistently exercise. Exercise is also vital for my health. Since I am insulin resistant I have to constantly be on guard against diabetes...exercise is one of the biggest things I can do to make sure I stay healthy. Recently Tyler and I have been trying to work on our cardio endurance. Mind you, this is much easier for Tyler than for myself. He is a pretty athletic guy by nature, so he is in pretty good shape. I have been consistently exercising for years now, but I have always hated running. Put me on a treadmill at a 20 incline and I will walk up that treadmill for 90 minutes as long as I don't have to run! I have always incorporated a little running into my workouts, but seriously nothing over a mile.

The last couple months I have been working on building up my endurance and how far I can run. We have been running Mt. Rubidoux; it's such a beautiful place to run, especially at sunset. I like running at Mt. Rubidoux because it isn't just flat terrain....there are some steep spots and I like that. It has been so challenging to start running, yet so rewarding. I can now run 2 miles without stopping and it feels so great. I even told Tyler yesterday that it's getting a little too easy for me and I need to step up my game. My goal is to eventually run all of Mt. Rubidoux...it's about 3 miles. Right now I walk about a mile uphill and then run the rest. I know 2 miles doesn't sound like a lot, but when you are a girl who has never found running enjoyable...it is a lot.;) I feel stronger now and that's a wonderful feeling.

I am so thankful for Tyler and for his motivation and encouragement. We always say that I am the one who motivates us to get out the door and exercise and he is the one who motivates me once we are actually exercising. Sometimes I just want to give up because I am so tired and it just plain hurts to run sometimes! My legs start burning and I think I can't make it another. Tyler doesn't let me give up. He motivates me to keep going. Tyler could easily run ahead of me and much farther than me...but he never makes me feel like I am slow or weak. I am so thankful for a husband who exercises with me and cares about his health and the health of his wife. We always talk about how we want to be good role models to our kids and encourage them to live an active lifestyle.

I am thankful for the small strides I am making. I won't be running in any marathons in the near future, but you might just see me running in a 5k down the road. We'll see what happens.:)

Disneyland in the Fall...

I love Disneyland at all times of the year, but Disneyland during the Fall and Winter is most definitely my favorite! Disneyland at Christmas is breathtaking! I know that sounds cheesy, but the first time Tyler took me to Disneyland at Christmastime I cried....I LOVE Christmas so I was in awe!
Tyler and I are so blessed to have season passes to Disneyland. It's nice to just drive down to Disneyland in the evenings, stay for a couple hours, and head home. On Thursday night, we did just that! After dinner we headed down to Dland for a few hours of Fall fun and of course some ice cream. Our goal was to ride the Haunted Mansion since it's all decked out for the holidays already and of course scary Space Mountain which has also been revamped for the Halloween season. So fun! We managed to ride both rides and my Fall love cup was full at the end of the night. Every time we are at Disneyland I have to have a sprinkle cone with 2 scoops of chocolate ice cream (ask Tyler about the time I cried when I didn't get to have one...I really am a kid at heart!). I was even more excited about my sprinkle cone on Thursday when I saw that it had white and orange sprinkles....even better!!:) Here are some pics from our lovely Thursday night adventure!

Just getting to Dland!

Here is my "We are gonna end up in the Mickey Penitentiary" face after Tyler picked this flower from the Disneyland garden!

Please ignore the random children in this picture. Can I just say that Tyler and I patiently waited in line to take this picture and then this mother just instructed her kids to jump in and get their picture taken...she saw us there and didn't even care. As a kindergarten teacher, I am all about not cutting in line! Rude! Okay, I am done ranting now....it's still a cute picture.:)

And of course ice cream to top off the night! Life is good.
